Or, should I say Financial Fools Day!!! This year, April's Fool coincide with the G20 summit which is being held in London and due to current economic conditions, many has taken the opportunity to protest against capitalism. In particular, the protest is targeted at those in the financial services (especially bankers!!!) as the public is now blaming them for the recession...
An online map dubbed "the big square mile" was released on the internet and many financial services organisation were listed on it to assist protestors.... AND... uh oh.... my company is one of them!!!!! Ooooh nooooo...........
.... There was an internal mail where everyone was encouraged to dress down or work from home and wherever possible, to avoid going to clients that day.... loads of hoohaa over it...BUT...
In the end.... there wasn't much action... at least near my office... there was a march towards BoE but then.... they seemed peaceful... and if not... having fun with many on bicycles and some in wigs... one even dressed as a cat!!!
Well... elsewhere... nearer to Bank... there were much more action...
