The Masquerade Ball

It's the annual SIAS (a society for student and just qualified actuaries!) and this year the organising committee came up with a masquerade theme!

I'm usually not a person who likes theme balls as I'm always too lazy to make the extra effort to get a costume that suits the theme... but luckily it's not that difficult to get a mask considering that Halloween was just around the corner... and so, for once... I'm actually prepared for the ball...

Do I look cute with my mask?? Hehehehe... fine... I know that my mask is quite plain... but at least I made the efforts right?

Another picture of me in my mask... and oh ya... if you noticed... for once I'm not wearing a black dress... hehehe... yeah... I used to be this black person and all my dresses are black... but hey... this year, I think I'm doing quite well in adding colour to my wardrobe... :)

Some random pictures.... as usual, they have performances during dinner... and after dinner, there's the live band for those who wants to hit the dance floor... and ooh... the weird guys in their weird masks! If you ask me, they look a bit gay :P and talking about weird, one of my colleagues turned up in a mask of.... HIMSELF... if you look closely in the last picture, he is actually wearing a mask of himself... I think he was definitely the funniest guy in the ball and everyone just wanted to take a picture with him (or his mask?)

And this year... they have something new... a casino... they had roulette and black jack... too bad it wasn't poker... otherwise, I could have show them my (erm.. non-existent??) skills in poker.. hahaha... :P

On a separate note... I just realised as I was typing this that one of my first posts in this blog was about the same event last year. I can't believe a year has passed by already... reflecting on the two occasions made me realised a lot of things have changed and how different my mindset was then.

I guess I should probably stop attending annual events so that I don't feel so nostalgic and stop counting things that don't matter anymore!

Hahaha... yeah... thanks! Otherwise I wouldn't have a mask.. you should take my place and go for the ball next year then... every year also they have a theme one... I remember one year it was like celebrities... then got ppl dress up as spiderman, marilyn monroe, austin power, spice girls (but all men! :P)...
